Melissa Timms

Melissa Timms began dancing at the age of five under the tuition of her mother, Lorna Timms.  She passed examinations for ballet with the Royal Academy of Dancing, won many competitions and festivals throughout the local area and danced at local fetes and fashion shows.

Melissa appeared in Pantomime at the Camberley Theatre as juvenile dancer for 3 years in a row and during her teenage years she successfully auditioned as a senior dancer for Jack and the BeanStalk at the Princes Hall, Aldershot.

At the age of 17, Melissa successfully auditioned for London Studio Centre, one of the premier dance and stage schools in the country, founded by Bridget Espinosa, and completed a three year professional theatre-dance course.  After leaving college she returned to Camberley where she joined her mother, to teach ballet, tap, modern-jazz and drama.

Melissa danced in Germany with the Town Twinning Association, has appeared in a touring production of 42nd Street and worked in the theatre both on the stage and back stage.

Melissa has become heavily involved in choreographing for fashion shows and local amateur dramatic societies.  She is well known locally for her expertise in choreography and has worked on many shows with the Camberley Musical Society (CAMUS) and The Savoy Singers.  Melissa received a NODA award for her routines in Cabaret.

Melissa is qualified with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing and the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts.  She is a member of the Spanish Dance Society and is continuing her studies to become a teacher of Spanish Dance and Flamenco.
